Holistic Therapies

Health & wellbeing for your Body, Mind, and Spirit

Holistic therapies are a form of healing that considers the whole person, body, mind, spirit, and emotions.

The holistic Therapies offered are:

Aromatherapy Relaxing Massage

Aromatherapy massage combines the power of the essential oils with the therapeutic action of touch. This holistic treatment attend to conditions of disharmony and imbalance of therefore benefiting the body, mind, and emotions.

The action of the essential oil blend can have a profound effect on the body and when combined with gentle massage can double this potential. The highly concentrated extracts of plants, called essential oils, stimulate the limbic system of the brain, which is attached the olfactory system (sense of smell). The limbic system controls emotions and influences the nervous system and hormones.

Essential oils promote many therapeutic effects that can be useful when working with stress related issues, skin conditions, sleep issues, digestive disorders, and hormonal imbalances to name but a few problems.

Raindrop Therapy

Raindrop Therapy combines aromatherapy, and reflexology, to create a healing and cleansing experience. The therapy brings total balance, a sense of harmony, and body wellness including mental, physical, and emotional through the very gentle techniques used.

If you’re prone to back/spine problems or your body feels like it’s off-balance at times, you might want to consider trying Raindrop Therapy. A special targeted massage that incorporates 9 essential oils into treatment. The massage technique is used to assist the spine back into alignment and ultimately provides full-body balance.

There are many benefits, such as:

  • Stress management
  • Balance and harmony to the body—physically, mentally, and emotionally
  • Structural and electrical alignment
  • Immune enhancement
  • Nerve stimulation
  • Energy alignment
  • Antiseptic (it creates a poor environment for viruses and bacteria to grow)
  • Vitality

Foot Reflexology

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive treatment. It is based on the principle that there are reflex points in the feet, hands and ears that correspond to every part of the body. When these reflex points are manipulated, they trigger responses via a system of energy pathways, encouraging the body to gently correct, strengthen and reinforce itself.  Stimulating the reflexes correctly can help to alleviate imbalance within the body.

Why people oncology patients use it?

Reflexology is one of the most popular types of therapy among people with cancer.  There is some evidence that reflexology can help you:

  • relax and cope with stress and anxiety
  • relieve pain
  • lift your mood and give a feeling of well being

Side effects

Generally, reflexology appears to be safe and doesn’t cause many side effects. Because most people feel relaxed after a treatment you might feel a bit lightheaded. Some people say their feet feel tender afterwards, others can have an emotional response, need to pass urine more often, or inclusive flue like symptoms.  This is all normal as you may be experiencing the “Healing crisis” getting worse before getting better.

With repeated sessions of the pressure and manipulation of nerve endings, reflexology can help to clear any channels of blocked energy.

Reflexology will leave you feeling deeply relaxed, helping to support improved health and wellbeing. It works on a physical level by increasing the flow of blood and lymph aiding the elimination of waste products and toxins; and promoting the healthy flow of vital energy.

Reiki

Reiki (pronounced raykey) is a form of “energy healing,”.  Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The Reiki Practitioner purely acts as a channel in this treatment and has no influence on the effect that the energy will have on you. Our bodies are very clever and intuitive machines and will always use Reiki energy to benefit your highest and greatest good.

This treatment is performed laid on a massage table. You will remain fully clothed throughout the session and further covered with a blanket in order to retain a sense of warmth and security throughout the treatment. The practitioner’s hands are placed in various (non-invasive) positions on the body and above in the aura level. At the end of the treatment Chakra balance is done.

Indian head massage

Indian head massage is used for the reduction of stress symptoms. The treatment also includes massage of the neck, shoulders, upper back and upper arms finishing with scalp massage techniques.

Indian head massage promotes deep relaxation, the head and back are two of the most sensitive areas on the body and respond well to being massaged. Along with this come the physical benefits of increased blood and lymph circulation and reduced tension in the muscles.

The treatment will leave you feeling deeply relaxed and balanced as the massage works to relieve muscle tension, relax tired eye muscles, re-balance the flow of energy within the body and trigger the release of endorphins within the brain. Higher chakras are balance at the end of the treatment.
